Kristen Gehrlein is the Executive Director at Barclay House of Augusta. She was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania and moved to Augusta in July of 2022. She has an Associates in Liberal Arts, an Associates in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science all from Gannon University. She also has a Masters in Health Service Administration from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, as well as a Personal Care Home Administrator License and an Adult Day Administration License. She has 17 years of experience in the Senior living industry with a concentration in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Kristen's favorite thing about working with seniors is being able to provide compassionate care while giving peace of mind to families. Her favorite thing about working at Barclay House is being part of a team of servant hearts and leaders. When she isn't working, she enjoys reading, cycling, and spending time with friends and family. She also loves volunteering and has been a dedicated volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association for over 15 years, serving as the previous chair for Walks, support group facilitator, and community educator.

Martie Ewest

Martie Ewest is the Director of Sales at Barclay House of Augusta. She was born and raised in the CSRA. She has 25 years of experience in the Senior Living industry in various roles. What she loves most about working with Seniors is the ability to have a positive impact on their lives and offering support to families in need. Martie’s favorite part about working at Barclay House of Augusta is “I love being a part of a team that is dedicated to providing compassionate care to residents and peace of mind to their families”. When she is not working, Martie enjoys spending time with her large family. She also enjoys reading, antiquing and traveling.
Daylee Thompson
Director of Business Operations

Daylee Thompson is the Director of Business Operations at Barclay House of Augusta. She was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia and has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Counseling from Liberty University. Before coming to Barclay House, she was a receptionist in veterinary hospitals for 2 years, and prior to that, she was a funeral service assistant and receptionist. Her favorite part of working with seniors is learning every resident’s story and their unique experiences, especially their love stories. Her favorite part of working at the Barclay House is being with the residents. “Each and every one holds a special place in my heart with their quirks, stories, and charms,” she says.
When she isn’t working, she spends her time reading, playing piano, enjoying nature at her family’s farm, and spending time with my husband and their dog, a German Shepherd named Sergeant.
Ruth Jackson

Ruth is the Director of Activities here at Barclay House of Augusta. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, she is a proud mother of three sons and one daughter, as well as twenty-two grandchildren!
With a background in creating and managing after-school programs and teaching dance, Ruth has dedicated over fifteen years to working in educational and senior living environments. She has also developed programs for at-risk youth and taught West African dance and exercise classes across various communities.
When she is not working, she enjoys writing poetry, storytelling, and spending time in nature, all while cherishing her faith and family.
Yolanda Johnson
Director of Memory Care

Yolanda serves as the Director of Memory Care here at Barclay House of Augusta. Originally born in North Carolina, she has called the Augusta area home since the age of six.
With a strong background in healthcare, Yolanda holds a CNA certification from Remedy Health Career Center of Evans and additional certifications as a CMA and Certified Dementia Practitioner from her time at Benton House. Before transitioning into healthcare, she successfully owned and operated a cake bakery.
Yolanda's favorite part of working with seniors is creating cherished memories and bringing joy to the residents every day. She takes pride in going above and beyond to ensure they are happy, smiling, and laughing often.
Outside of work, Yolanda enjoys cooking, shopping, and spending quality time with her husband and family. As a mother of five and a newly proud grandmother, she also devotes time to caring for her mini farm, which includes chickens, barn cats, and mini goats.
